Consultant General & Vascular Surgeon
Mr Somaiya is a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon with 26 years of experience, practising in London within Barts Health NHS Trust.
He manages the full range of vascular conditions, including aortic, carotid, upper and lower limb arterial, venous and lymphatic disease. His clinical interests include stroke prevention surgery and vascular complications related to diabetes. He performs both open and minimally invasive procedures, including aneurysm repair and endovenous laser vein treatments.
He is Clinical Lead for the Surgical Skills Programme at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and has served as a tutor and examiner at King’s College London and the University of Sheffield. His quality improvement work includes setting up one of the UK’s early one stop venous clinics for varicose veins.
At Bilba Clinic he provides treatments for varicose veins, including endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) and foam sclerotherapy.
